I am an Assistant Professor at the Biology department at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. I completed my postdoctoral research in Atul Butte’s lab at the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute (BCHSI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In my research career, I published >25 manuscripts, 12 of them first-author peer-reviewed research manuscripts, many of them covered in the media and are highly cited. My early research focus was on the interplays between DNA methylation and gene expression profiles in health and disease. I then shifted to developing computational and experimental methods for better characterization of the tumor microenvironment and applying those methods to pan-cancer studies. The methods I developed are used by thousands of researchers in academia and industry around the world. My current focus is split between computational immunology analyses using single-cell RNA-sequencing data; and applying machine-learning techniques on electronic health records (EHR) to improve patients’ flow and disease outcomes.
